I Can Do Nothing

Yes, you heard me correctly – I can do nothing.

Have you heard the story of the vine and the branch? If not, let me summarize it for you. There’s this vine – deeply rooted, healthy, strong, connected to the perfect soil, and right next to a crystal clear stream. There’s this branch – brittle, no roots, afraid of storms, afraid of droughts, and unable to produce anything good. If the branch could connect to the vine, that branch’s whole world would change!

News – we are that branch.

Great news – Jesus is that vine.

Best news ever – We can connect to Jesus and live in relationship with him daily.

We can do nothing unless we are connected to the vine. From the vine we are nourished, strengthened, produce fruit, grow, weather storms, and have hope and a future!

John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (NIV)
